If art is an outward expression of our experience, it is the inward awareness that shapes experience itself. The earliest paintings of our ancestors are not so different from modern attempts to make “solid” what the heart and mind are constantly producing.
And if thoughts and feelings inform art, then it might be that they are first projected on the mind and heart before becoming somewhat fixed in the world of variety.
